ISEG participated in the university marketing competition organised by Pearson, which took place in November 2016. In this challenge where teams from several universities in Portugal and Spain compete with each other by means of a simulator that registers the strategic options of the teams taking part, based on the jeans market.
The team that represented ISEG is part of the Bachelor’s discipline of Operational Marketing, and is made up of students Clarisse Manteigas, Filipa Ferreira, Inês António, Júlio Neves and Prof. Carolina Afonso.
The team came in 4 th place, and was distinguished in the challenge on social media, where it won, each member of the team being awarded as a prize the book " The business of choice. Marketing to consumer's instincts" by Matthew Willcox (Pearson).
In the words of Inês António, the spokesperson for the group: "Participating in the Pearson Marketing Challenge was a very enriching experience. We applied the concepts taught in the Operational Marketing course unit in a practical way. This experience has provided us with a clearer picture of the workings and decisions that a company’s Marketing Department has to make."
