Progressive Relaxation of the COVID-19 Pandemic Containment Measures

Following the recommendation and clarification provided by the MCTES to scientific and higher education institutions, on the 17th of April ISEG elaborated a plan for the progressive relaxation of the COVID-19 pandemic containment measures.

The principles behind the elaboration of this plan are designed to guarantee all the public health and safety rules in force, whilst, at the same time, ensure that all ISEG activities – in particular, teaching-learning, assessment, and research – can be carried out with the greatest possible semblance of normality.

It needs to be highlighted that the re-opening will be gradual and that the Procedures of the ISEG Contingency Plan for the prevention of transmission of human infection by the coronavirus (COVID-19) remain in force, as per the general measures of the attached document, the most important of which are:

1.      Mandatory use of a mask on the ISEG campus by all members of the academic community and visitors;

2.      Mandatory hand disinfection at the entrances to all buildings;

3.      Compliance with the DGS recommendations regarding hand disinfection and hand washing;

4.      Compliance with the rules for social distancing in all of the ISEG campus.

It should also be noted that necessary visits to ISEG need to be planned, in order to avoid the presence of too many people in the offices at the same time. Whenever possible, such visits should be communicated to the Administrator’s Office by email ( In particular, in the interest of safety, we would be grateful if all necessary and previously scheduled visits by faculty and researchers to the Miguel Lupi and/or Francesinhas 2 buildings be communicated to the email of the Administrator’s Office.
