ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG) and Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico) signed a collaboration agreement on the 15th of July, with the objective of developing a training offer which is increasingly adapted to modern times. These two internationally renowned Schools, both part of Universidade de Lisboa, are to launch short-term executive programmes which are focussed on the digital and technology area, combining ISEG’s Management and Strategy skills with Técnico’s engineering and digital know-how. In addition, they are to join forces to deliver the “Digital Disruption” stream of the ISEG MBA.
“ISEG and Técnico are natural partners, which complement each other perfectly: Técnico’s technological and digital expertise is combined with ISEG’s know-how in these areas and also in Management. We aim to educate the most complete professionals in the market, who are capable of innovating and responding to any challenge”, explains Clara Raposo, Dean of ISEG.
For the Dean of Técnico, Rogério Colaço, who says, “this agreement is an extremely important step, as the sharing of the skills and knowledge of both Schools enables students to be given a more complete and enriching learning experience, while creating value for the country in the context of advanced training.”.
“These are two partner Schools, both of which were created in 1911, as the Engineering and Economics Schools in the city of Lisbon”, says Luís Cardoso, Chair of ISEG Executive Education, adding that “furthermore, they have an evident complementarity regarding their objectives, contributing decisively to the education of people and the Portuguese business world – increasingly at the international level.”
New executive education programmes for the leaders of large companies, departments, and professionals who wish to master new technologies and business models will soon be presented, in order to prepare them to lead the digital transformation in their organisations. The first of these is now available and the enrolment period is now open for the first executive programme on, “Data Science – an immersive overview: how to use data to make better decisions?”, which commences on the 6th of November, 2020.
Técnico’s participation will also include active collaboration in the ISEG MBA, which also includes international partners such as the World Economic Forum, the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies, Startup Lisboa, the Portuguse Air Force, and the University of San Francisco, through the Silicon Valley immersion experience.
