The winner of this edition was the student Tiago Pires, who, in addition to the monetary prize, will also be eligible to participate in a professional internship at PSE.
At the award ceremony, which was carried out virtually via Zoom, Professor Esmeralda Ramalho, the Coordinator of the Masters degree, highlighted the importance of the experience of PSE and the added value of PSE data for students.
For Professor Isabel Proença, the PSE prize is an incentive and motivation for students to perform well.
According to Nuno Santos, Chief Analytics Officer at PSE “Tiago is not just an exceptional student, with excellent grades, but he really likes the subject, he lives and breaches the subject, as well as data analysis and econometrics!”
Tiago Pires, the winner of the prize states that “the prize was the culmination of a huge effort” and he thanked companies such as PSE for being “attentive and interested in young graduates”. According to him, “the discipline of Spatial Econometrics is key for this Masters degree, it fits like a glove”.
The PSE Prize for the Best Student in Spatial Econometrics results from an agreement between ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, and PSE- Produtos e Serviços de Estatística Lda, which is awarded to the best student of spatial econometrics in the Masters in Applied Econometrics and Forecasting.
