Universidade de Lisboa is one of the seven universities which makes up the European University UNITE! (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering) consortium, which was formed after the successful winning candidacy for ERASMUS + KA2 – European University, which is worth five million euros.
Together with Politecnico di Torino (the coordinator of the application), Technische Universität Darmstadt, Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Aalto Korkeakoulusaatio sr, and Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, ULisboa has now reinforced its capacity to develop its research and innovation (R&I) at the European level, with the approval of its candidacy for UNITE!H2020, for Call Science, and for Society of H2020.
Worth two million euros, this application will enable a greater integration of European best practices in terms of R&I, in line with the European Commission’s strategy for a “greater and differentiated involvement of the actors in the research process and in the change of traditional methods of the organisation and impact of research”.
In particular, this candidacy aims to:
1 – Develop the 2030 common agenda for Research and Innovation, emphasising the main vocations which are common to all partners, in order to face the main societal challenges;
2 – Develop policies to strengthen human capital at the level of R&I;
3 – Develop policies for sharing research infrastructures;
4 – Strengthen the cooperation among the non-R&I actors, for example, by creating a support network for applications and knowledge transfer;
5 – Improve the integration of Open Science practices;
6 – Ensure a greater involvement of civil society and the public authorities in R&I;
7 – Strengthen relations with other alliances in terms of synergies and complementarities.
