The 21st edition of the ISEG Career Forum was held online, when more than 50 Portuguese and international companies had the opportunity to recruit and present a large number of job offers to ISEG students by means of an online parameterised platform, which ensured that the job fair represented as closely as possible the reality of the space where it is normally held – the Pátio das Francesinhas.
The event also included a series of activities, such as Company Talks, Virtual Speed Interviews, and Workshops, which privilege contact between students and the business world.
Among many others, companies such as EY, EDP, CGD, Vodafone, Deloitte, Banco de Portugal, Accenture, L´Oreal contacted 1,619 participating students and received a total of 6,531 curricula.
Statistics about the event:
– 58 companies vitae
– 1,619 participating students
– 6,531 CV’s submitted
– 830 users in the virtual auditorium (the maximum attained)
– 2,955 messages exchanged between students and companies
“As the representative of Deloitte at the ISEG Career Forum, in which we have participated for several years now, I would like to congratulate the Careers Office for providing students with a unique and remarkable experience, which was held entirely online, giving them the opportunity to contact more than 50 companies!
The various interactions created throughout the day, together with the company presentation and the chat enabled students to get to know better Deloitte’s culture and our mission and values, as well as to share experiences and clarify doubts about our business areas, career opportunities, and current ongoing recruitment processes.
The fact that it was a 3D a platform virtually transported us to the Pátio das Francesinhas, enabling a complete view of the fair and all the stands, where companies had the opportunity to share their identity by customising their stands.”
Ana Rebelo Grilo (People Attraction & Recruitment, Deloitte)
“The Virtual Future platform, which was used for the first time at the ISEG Career Forum for the context of a job fairs, was developed during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic by the non-profit association Inspiring the Future as an alternative solution to face-to-face fairs.
Therefore, it was on the basis the experience of our eight years of existence that we intend to create a platform which attempts to replicate as faithfully as possible the type of interactions that exist in fairs of this kind, not only at the level of the relation between exhibitor and participant, but also with regards the visual dimension and the dynamics of circulation and the sharing of documentation.
Nevertheless, the largest differentiation of the platform concerns the total customisation of the event, which cannot be found on any other platform. It was for this reason that ISEG took the decision to replicate its famous Pátio das Francesinhas, to enable participants to feel as if they were in the same environment as they would normally be at a face-to-face fair”.

“ISEG is one of the largest and best educational institutions in Portugal, Europe, and the world, which has been consolidating this position of excellence in recent years. The 2021 Career Forum is another step on this path, which proves why ISEG and its students continue to be so valued by companies.
Naturally, the Career Office is to be congratulated, not only for organising this event, but also for its contribution over the years to the recognition and prestige of ISEG and its students in the business world.
For Lidl, ISEG is an extremely important partner and we are extremely proud to participate in this event, which not only promotes interaction between the company and students, but establishes a degree of proximity which is not usually possible on a daily basis. Through this event, we were able to have a great impact with hundreds of students who could become part of Lidl’s future and contribute to our success as a company.
It is through these moments that we are able to distinguish ourselves as a company, while students also have the possibility to shine, as well as valorise themselves throughout the event by participating in a wide range of activities. For us, these are special moments, where we try to pass important messages to students in the hope that they can contact us and benefit from the time that they invest, in one way or another.
A last word of thanks and recognition is due to the Careers Office, which organised a totally virtual event with extreme competence and with fantastic tools which enabled both companies and students to have an excellent day!
Guilherme Consolado Paz (Employer & University Relations, Lidl)
“We proudly participated in ISEG’s Career Forum 2021. An ISEG with a renewed communication of OPEN MINDS. GRAB THE FUTURE. – with which L´Oréal identifies strongly.
Despite the present context we are experiencing, it was good to feel the virtual energy of a generation that wants to receive a vote of hope and confidence from companies.
Freedom to go Beyond. That´s the Beauty of L´Oréal was the message that we hope to have conveyed, not only at TALK – where we had 640 participants – but also during the innumerous contacts at the Virtual Stand. The follow-up Virtual Speed Interviews will take place on the 2nd of March. It was a full, but pertinent and very well-organised agenda. Congratulations to ISEG for its courage and we’ll be together again in 2022!”
Sara Silva (Talent Acquisition & Employer, L’ Oréal Portugal)
“Once again, the Career Forum managed to open the doors to the job market. Despite the situation we currently experiencing, and the impossibility to have personal contact, through the medium of the virtual and interactive fair it was possible to speak with all companies and clarify our doubts in an innovative way.
The Company Talks provided greater proximity and contact with recruiters, as well as the chance to get to know each company better.
It was a day that helped me organise my future and prepare for it. As a student nearing the end of the first year of my Masters degree, I can say that it is through these contacts and the effort made by the Careers Office that we can find opportunities and expand our network.”
Mafalda Palmela, a student of the Masters in Management
“Regarding this Career Forum, I would like to highlight its ability to adapt to both the online format and the model built in the same dimension. During a day of Company Talks, we were able to have contact with an immense number of companies from various sectors of business and to gain a better understanding of their performance – both by means of the activities carried out and also during the recruitment processes.
It is this learning series that enables us to prepare even better for entering the job market (which is becoming increasingly competitive!).”
Rafael Carreiro, a student of the Bachelors in Management
