The 17th National Conference on the Economics of Health will take place at ISEG, from the 20th to the 22nd of October.
This conference is organised by the Associação Portuguesa de Economia da Saúde (APES https://apes.pt/) and includes 27 simultaneous sessions with more than 90 presentations of scientific research. Among these sessions, 5 specific sessions need highlighting, as they will be presentations regarding research on the current pandemic. In addition, the conference will count with 2 sessions covering current pressing issues: one being dedicated to informal caregivers and continuous care, whilst the other is dedicated to human resources management for the health sector – discussing in particular employee retention policies.
The Chair of the Board of APES, Céu Mateus, is an ISEG alumna and is currently a Professor at the University of Lancaster, in the United Kingdom.
This event counts with the participation of the following ISEG professors: Professor Carlos Farinha Rodrigues, Professor Joana Pais and Professor Sandra Maximiano.
The closing session on the 22nd will be attended by His Excellency, the Secretary of State for Health, Dr. Diogo Serras Lopes.

ISEG students and professors can attend the conference sessions in person, subject to available space in the auditoriums. In this case, their access to the conference does not include coffee-breaks and meals.
