    Pre-requisites

    Students enrolled in Macroeconomics are expected to possess the intermediate-level knowledge in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Mathematics, and Statistics and Econometrics, that is taught in a good undergraduate school in Economics.     Aims and objectives

    Macroeconomics is one of the first-semester compulsory courses for the Master's courses in Economics and in  Monetary and Financial Economics at ISEG . The weekly workload is four and a half hours and we anticipate 26 lectures and 13 seminars.

    Aims

    • To deepen the knowledge in macroeconomic theory at an advanced level.
    • To provide the methodologies and techniques necessary for analysis and research in the main areas of applied and theoretical Macroeconomics.
    • To provide the appropriate tools for further education at the PhD level.

    Objectives

    • To explain and evaluate macroeconomic models.
    • To apply macroeconomic models to practical economic and policy issues.
    • To show a knowledge of the macroeconomic literature in general, and the reading list in particular.
