- Classical theoretical references (Marx, Weber and Durkheim); perspectives of the scientific organization of work, studies on systems of authority, power and conflict and new production systems. Institutional theory and organizational change; ecological approaches to organizations and resource dependence theory.

- From fordism to network society and neoliberalism. International socio-economic integration. Global value chains, asymmetries of power, new institutions and new forms of governance.
Socio-economic transitions: implications for organizations and the nature of work
- Technological change, organizational innovation and implications in the nature of work. Contemporary perspectives on organizational social networks.
Socio-economic transitions: implications for the labor market, employment and workers
- Structure of the productive activity, labor flexibility and inequalities in the labor market. Professions, professional training and professional regulation. Change in labor relations, collective bargaining and strikes.
Sustainable Work Over the Life Course
- Quality of work and employment. Conceptual framework, indicators and trends in job quality. Workers at-risks jobs. Managing work transitions and health throughout the life course: a European perspective. Sustainable working lives: policies, regulation and practices.
