Financial Analysis and Reporting (1 º Sem 2020/2021)

Dear Students

As per ISEG rules, second sit exam will take place as scheduled 4th February, 9 a.m., for those students that did not pass. 

A - The exam will take place online, via teams, in a team link to be provided closer to that date.

B - It is mandatory to have proper internet and a device with camera and microphone. The camera must be working during the entire exam. If you disconnect the camera during the exam, you will fail immediatelly.

C - The exam will take place in two stages:

i. On Feb 4th, 9 am, you will do an online written exam, with answers hand written and uploaded to aquila, as jpeg or pdf. You will require a minimum grade of 8 marks to be considered for the second part, which will be an oral exam.

ii. Those students eligible from the written exam (with minimum grade or more), will do an oral exam from 8th February up to 12th February. Defitive time slots will be allocated by the professors.

D - Your final grade in the course will be determined by the oral exam. This means that even if you have a postive grade in the written part, you will fail the course if you are not able to show your knowledge during the oral exam, or, similarly you may end up with a grade greater than the marks you score on the written part, if you do very well in the oral exam.

E - All the exams will be recorded, for future requirements.

F - Please be aware of the following technical details:

Before the time of the exam, and to avoid access difficulties, you should take the following precautions:

1. Check your "default" browser
2. In this "default" browser, make sure you have any authentication done with an account other than your ISEG      institutional account. If you have it, register outside this account! If you access the exam with an account other than your account, the test will not be considered.
3. Access to http://portal.office.com sign  in to the  institutional account. Keep the browser open with the login done, which will make the whole process more fluid.
4. Supported browsers are:
   • Microsoft Edge Chromium
   • Google Chrome
   • Mozilla Firefox

Any other browser may cause incompatibilities, making it difficult to access the exam. In particular, Safari has demonstrated several issues of incompatibilities. 

G - Make you sure you conect to the exam link 15 minutes ahead of time.

H - The exam will consist of hipotethical cases for which you have to show the impact on Financial Statements (Line items Recognition and measurement), as well as impact on Financial Analysis Ratio. There are NO multiple choice questions in the exam. The exam will last 1 (one) hour maximum. It will be open book, since we cannot be sure that only formlae would be used. Yet, time management is paramount.
