Exam Rules for students doing the Exam presential

 

1.      You should be at the examination room door 5 minutes before the Exam time.

2.      You cannot enter the room before instructed to do so.

3.      When you enter the room, you must choose a sit with a paper.

4.      The time allowed for the first part of the exam is two hours (plus reading time) and one hour (plus reading time) for the second part.

5.      Once you enter the examination room, you cannot leave it before 45 minutes have passed from the beginning of the Exam.

6.      No student can enter the examination room after half an hour as passed from the beginning of the Exam.

7.      If you leave the examination room, you cannot return.

8.      You should bring:

·       writing material (pen),

·       a calculator and

·       the Formulae and Tables for Actuarial Examinations (the 2002 edition) aka “Orange Book” without any annotations.

9.      You must not bring anything else to the exam, with exception for a bottle of water.

10.  You will be given:

·       answer and draft sheets

·       the Formulary (including appendix of the “Loss Models” book used in classes)

11.  At the end of the Exam, students must return the distributed Formulary without any annotations.

12.  All devices with potential access to the internet (smart phones, smart watches, etc) must be turned off.

13.  First part of the exam:  

·       starts at 3 PM.

·       When you return your paper you will be instructed about the room where the second part will take place.

14.  Second part of the exam:

·       Starts at 5.30 PM

·       Rules are similar to those for the first part.

·       Answers must be written on the answers sheet that is given to you. When the exam is finished you should upload your R output sending a private message to joaoas@iseg.ulisboa.pt or sending an email to the same address. You can pack all your files in a zip file or you can send one file for each question. Please save the files and keep them on the desktop of your computer.

·       The separator used in csv files is “;”.

·       Internet can only be accessed during the reading time to download any package that is needed and when the exam is finished to upload or to email  your files. If you need to download a package once the exam is started, you must inform the lecturer.
