IPM Special Lecture

On TUESDAY November 27 at 14h there will be a special lecture, at Anfiteatro 21 (F1) by Dr. Jorge Guimarães (CFA) on 

" Investor Risk Profiling: a real life case study"

(Part III_1 of the IPM Syllabus)

Jorge Guimaraes has been working as a Senior Equity Analyst in Haitong since September 2015, covering Iberian Utilities and Renewables. Before that he was at Banif Gestão de Activos for 9 years, where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Equities, managing long only and long short European and Iberian equity funds. Previously he was a Senior Equity Analyst in Banif Investment Bank, covering Iberian utilities. Jorge also worked in Allianz Portugal and in Banco Finantia. Jorge has an MBA from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and is a CFA charterholder.

Empirical Assignment

The 2018 Empirical Assignment is now available online. Is to be delievered ONLINE by the 23rd of December!

This week there will be a JOINT IPM CLASS, for both S12 and S42 students, on  TUE NOV 20, 10-13h. ALL STUDENTS should go to Anf 21. There are no FFECO classes on Tuesday.

Instead, there is also a JOINT FFECO CLASS, for both S12 and S42, but on THUR NOV 22, 10-13h, instead. There are no IPM classes on thursday.

Quiz 2 grades are now online. All students got full points in questions 14 and 27 as system corrected wrongly some of the versions.

Tomorrow, November 14, there will be an extra (non-mandatory) class of IPM in the computer LAB (room 202, F2), staring at 13.30h.

This class is intended to clarify the usage of Excel in solving problems from IPM. Students are expected to solve the problems by themselves as clarify doubts. Interested students should show up in time in the designated room and bring the Computer Assignments available online. Then can also bring their own laptops and, if possible, should also try to implement the assignment in Excel before class.

Quiz 2 takes place today, NOVEMBER 12, and covers PART II of the course (except the last point on multi-factor return generating models).

It has 30 questions and a duration of 45 minutes: from 21.30h to 22:15h!
