Dear students,

Starting now, we will have an extra class each week on Fridays, from 10:00 to 10:45. In these short classes we'll discuss online the homework assignments.

The two tests will take place online Friday March 27 and Friday April 24 from 9:30 to 10:45. Each will worth 10% of the grade. We will work on a honour base: I'll post each test at 9:30, each of you will work alone, and send me your solution by email or other means by 10:45 sharp. Ideally, you should print the pdf file I'm sending, answer handwriting on it, and send a pdf or photo of your written answers. But you can also answer by writing on the pdf file (if you have means for it), or sending the answers by typing them on an email.

I will not grade the answers, i.e., if you answer reasonably all questions you will have the full grade. Only if you don't answer at all, then I'll only take grade points of your total grade. What I want you to do is to study and verify with the test what you know and what you don't know and need to study further.

Please, take note of the dates. If you have any issue with all this, please let me know asap.

Dear students,

We are living through difficult times, but should carry on.

Unfortunately, classes were not held this week, but they are resuming this coming week. We will have an online class Wednesday March 18 at 10:00, the usual time. And we will have the weekly scheduled classes. We will not have the first test and we will have to find a way of solving the evaluation issue. More on all this later.

For the time being, I will each week post in advance a PPT of the class, if possible with animations and voice over. This presentation works as a lecture and should be read/watched before class. It's just a synthesis of the class content. You will have to consult the textbook, practice the suggested exercises, and try to understand the main concepts. This should be your essential study guide. The first PPT file is already in Aquila, at the course page.

You have to do all this IN ADVANCE BEFORE THE CLASS. The online class will be done through Microsoft Teams, following a procedure ISEG is now setting up.

During the online class I'll go over the essentials, try to guide your further study, and answer your questions.

I know all this is a poor substitute for a lively presencial and iterative class. But we have to carry on the best we can. No one wants you to loose a semester of your life; so we all have to work. I'll do my best and I know you will do your best.

So, check the web, work on the topics, and prepare yourself with a good internet connection for meeting Wednesday March 18 at 10:00.
