2015 FCT Investigator Programme
UECE -Research Unit on Complexity and Economics from ISEG/ULisboa accepts applications from PhD researchers wishing to have UECE as host institution under the program 'FCT Investigator 2015.'
UECE produces research, both theoretical and applied, mainly in Economics, but also in the Sciences of Complexity and in inter-disciplinary areas. As such, UECE is composed of three research areas: Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics; Microeconomics, Markets, and Finance; and Complex Economic Systems. Ranked as "Very Good" in the last evaluation process of R&D Units promoted by FCT in 2015, UECE has more than 30 researchers, including ISEG faculty, faculty from other schools, researchers of the Banco de Portugal, and PhD students, among others. FCT Investigator grants are intended to all researchers holding a PhD degree, of any nationality, and in any research or academic field providing a competitive salary, for up to five years. There are three types of grants:
Starting Grant aimed at researchers with more than three years and less than eight years post-PhD experience at the time of application. Previous experience of scientific independence is not required.
Development Grant aimed at researchers with a curriculum of exceptional merit and experience as an independent researcher.
Consolidation Grant aimed at researchers with experience as an independent researcher, with a curriculum of exceptional merit and evidence of scientific leadership in a specific area of knowledge.
Successful candidates are expected to engage in high-quality research activities, to interact with members of the centre and are also strongly encouraged to participate actively in all of UECE's scientific events. The centre will provide the necessary conditions for international- level research work. The working language is English.
Candidates must submit a CV and the proposal drafted according to the FCT model by email to uece@iseg.ulisboa.pt (no later than September 10, 2015). The acceptance of the application in order to have UECE as a host institution will be released in the shortest possible term. At FCT, the call is open till September 15, 2015 (5pm, Lisbon time).
