Mathias Alencastro (CEBRAP - Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento, São Paulo, Brasil) & Pedro Seabra (CEI - Centro de Estudos Internacionais ISCTE & IDN - Instituto da Defesa Nacional, Portugal) will be presenting the Book Brazil-Africa Relations in the 21st Century: From Surge to Downturn and Beyond (Springer, 2021). Afterwards, Barnaby Joseph Dye (Global Development Institute, Manchester, UK) will be presenting the Development Studies Webinar Brazil's Boom and Bust in Tanzania: A Case Study of Naivety.

Mathias Alencastro's research focuses on private companies in Brazilian foreign policy. Pedro Seabra's research interests are international security, South Atlantic geopolitics, and security capacity-building in Africa. Barnaby Joseph Dye's research interests focus on the politics and infrastructure, India-Africa relations, and the political economy of dam building resurgence.
