In the 2024 edition, the Leiden ranking evaluated the scientific production between 2019 and 2022 of 1,506 universities from 72 countries. The ranking once again gave ULisboa the lead in the Iberian Peninsula, placing it 133rd in the world and 25th in Europe.
At a national level, ULisboa leads four of the five scientific areas analysed by the CWUR rankingIn addition to the European ranking, it also stands out: 9th place in Life and Earth Sciences, 16th place in Engineering Sciences and Physics, 21st place in Mathematics and Computer Sciences and 50th place in Social Sciences and Humanities.
ISEG CWUR ranking from Leiden created by the Center for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University is one of the most prestigious rankings international, basing its assessment on scientific production and its impact, using bibliometric data from the Web of Science.
The results achieved confirm the relevance and international dimension of ULisboa's scientific production.
