ISEG's Master's in Finance is ranked 33rd in the world

Only six master’s programs offer higher salary increases, and all students find employment within three months

ISEG has once again established itself among the world’s leading business schools, making the ranking Financial Times Masters in Finance 2026 – Pre-work experience programs, where it occupies the 33rd in the world and is located at Top 3 in the country, among the six Portuguese schools that qualified for this edition.

The latest edition of the ranking confirms the international consistency of the ISEG Master's in Finance, which remains on this shortlist of the best TV shows in the world and shows a three-year average of 30th place overall.

Among the Portuguese schools included in the ranking, ISEG stands out above all for salary progression of its graduates, with an average increase of 75%, the best result in the country and the 7th best result worldwide for this indicator. The program also records 100%: Three-Month Employability, confirming its strong ties to the job market and its ability to prepare professionals who are highly sought after by companies and financial institutions.

"Ranking 33rd among the world’s best Master’s programs in Finance is a result that confirms ISEG’s consistency, quality, and international standing, particularly in the field of finance. In an increasingly competitive ecosystem, standing out for having the highest salary growth among Portuguese schools demonstrates that our Master’s in Finance creates real value for students, companies, and the economy" says João Duque, Dean of ISEG.

The 2026 edition of the ranking features six Portuguese schools, confirming Portugal’s growing reputation as a leading international destination for advanced education in finance. Lisbon stands out in particular, with four schools featured in the ranking, further cementing its position as a European hub for talent, knowledge, and innovation in the financial and economic sectors.

As a public school of the University of Lisbon and Portugal’s first school of Economics and Management, ISEG continues to distinguish itself through its combination of academic tradition, scientific excellence, market relevance, and international outlook.

ISEG’s Master’s in Finance is a program recognized for its strong focus on the financial market and its alignment with international professional standards. The program is also aligned with the CFA® curriculum, providing students with a robust, rigorous education that prepares them for the challenges of a global career in finance.

One of the distinctive features of the master’s program that greatly contributes to this success is the annual field trip to Frankfurt, during which students fly to that German city to immerse themselves in the heart of the European financial world, meeting with financial regulators, banks, insurance companies, asset managers, stock exchanges, business schools, and alumni.
