On 25th OctoberISEG is holding a Workshop on "Children's public spaces: islands of freedom in the city?"from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in room 101 (Ed. Novo Quelhas).
This workshop is being held as part of the research project CRiCity – Children and their right to the city: Fighting urban inequality through the participatory design of child-friendly cities.
The CRiCity focuses on children's relationships with urban public places in two major Portuguese cities, Lisbon and Porto, using a child-centered ethnographic and participatory approach. Children's perspectives are transposed into urban planning through a bottom-up participatory methodology, involving the local community and the state, in order to draw up proposals for a child-friendly city.
This workshop is organized by SOCIUS - Research Centre for Economic and Organizational Sociology, project proponent institution CRiCityThe partners are the University of Porto - Faculty of Letters, Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto and the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP/Ulisboa), Center for Administration and Public Policy (CAPP).
