Practical Mindfulness and Qi Gong Workshop

Don't miss the "Practical Workshop on Mindfulness and Qi Gong (or Chi Kung)" to be held at ISEG on Saturday, 18 January, from 09.30 to 12.30.

Develop your ability to concentrate and, consequently, your intuition, your perception of events and decision-making skills in life's most difficult situations. Achieve a balance between body and mind and learn how to manage stress and improve your health and quality of life.

During this workshop, Professor João Carvalho das Neves (ISEG) combines the theory and practice of Mindfulness(chi-kung) with energy management exercises, with the objective to improve your state of health and well-being and provide you with tools for your everyday life, as well as specific moments of interaction to clarify questions and doubts. Professor Carvalho das Neves is a Certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher from the University of California San Diego Center for Mindfulness Professional Training Institute and is also an accredited Chi-Kung Instructor from the Traditional School of Chinese Medicine (Lisbon) https://cih.ucsd.edu/mbpti/mbsr-mentorship

Participants should preferably bring a yoga mat and a small blanket in case it's cold. Everyone should bring a few items to share for lunch and socialising.

  • Start with Mindfulness about breathing and physical and emotional sensations
  • Qi Gong: The 9 pearls of the dragon - Working the energy flow channels
  • Qi Gong: Yi Jing Practice - System for strengthening muscles and tendons
  • Mindfulness: Choiceless awareness
  • Mindfulness: Body Scan
  • Q&A at the beginning and end of each practice.
  • Group lunch, socialising, and final Q&A
