Recessions are periods in which a country's production and people's income fall. They can happen for many reasons and have a variety of social, financial and political consequences. When did they start? How long did they last? What effects have they had on daily lives of the Portuguese?
To answer these questions, the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation set up a team of experts led by Ricardo Reis whose objective is precisely to define the moments of recession in the Portuguese economy, creating a reference chronology of the crises.
On te 15th November, the entire academic community is invited to the presentation of this study, which is entitled "Crises in the Portuguese economy" , in Auditorium 2 at ISEG, at 15:00.
The presentation will be followed by a debate designed to exchange ideas about both the research work carried out to date and also the continuation of the committee's work, with th4 objective to better identify when future crises may occur in the Portuguese economy.
Free admission.
