<\/span><\/strong>The Colloquium Work Without Borders: Perspectives on Domestic Services and Caregiving in Private Homes<\/strong> (previously scheduled for June 18th and 19th) will be held on October 1 and 2, 2020.<\/strong>
Initially planned as a face-to-face colloquium in Lisbon, it may be adjusted to an online modality depending on the progress of public health conditions.

Keynote speaker Prof. Rosie Cox will speak online. Rosie Cox<\/a> is Professor of Geography at Birkbeck - University of London, with prestigious research on paid domestic work and care work (more info here<\/a>).

This Colloquium aims to bring together theoretical, phenomenological and ethnographic contributions, among others, that will allow a better understanding of paid domestic work in its past or contemporary configurations, including perspectives on emerging trends.
 
Abstracts are invited for the following topics:<\/strong>
- Migration, work and gender;
- Disqualification, informality and the value of domestic work;
- Public policies in the domestic and care services sector;
- Associations, trade unions and collective mobilization in domestic work;
- Demographic ageing and the care sector;
- Rural\/urban opposition in the organization of care;
- Discrimination and otherness in domestic and care services;
- Narratives and perceptions about work, domesticity or intimacy\/body.<\/p>\n
