{"id":58641,"date":"2025-04-11T09:43:04","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T09:43:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/?p=58641"},"modified":"2025-04-11T10:11:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T10:11:35","slug":"cesa-participates-in-european-democracyinaction-consortium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/en\/2025\/04\/cesa-participates-in-european-democracyinaction-consortium\/","title":{"rendered":"CEsA participates in a European consortium of the #DemocracyinAction project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesa.rc.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/cesa-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEsA - Centre for African and Development Studies\/ISEG Research<\/a><\/strong> is part of a European consortium coordinated by the University of Leiden to carry out the <strong><em>#DemocracyinAction: Grassroots Culture, Arts and Cultural Spaces for Political Participation and Expression Online and Offline in a Resilient Europe<\/em><\/strong> research project, which is financed by a grant of 3 million euros from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu\/funding\/funding-opportunities\/funding-programmes-and-open-calls\/horizon-europe_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Horizon Europe<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professors <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesa.rc.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/investigacao\/investigacao-investigacao-2\/jfalconi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jessica Falconi<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesa.rc.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/investigacao\/investigacao-investigacao-2\/ievora\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iolanda \u00c9vora<\/a><\/strong> are coordinating the <strong>Work Package No. 5 - <em>Race, Ethnicity and Civic Participation<\/em><\/strong>. The research will focus on the cultural and artistic productions and spaces created by communities of the African diaspora, as well as the productions of the Roma community in Portugal and the Moroccan community in Spain. This research will be carried out in collaboration with local Portuguese and Spanish organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>first meeting of the project took place at ISEG<\/strong> on 12, 13 and 14 February, bringing together more than 20 European researchers and activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Further information <a
