3rd Edition of Kapuscinski Development Lectures (KDLs)

The 3 rd Edition of the Kapuscinski Development Lectures will be held on the 23 September, comprising a conference on "Development@70: New Life or a Critical Gracious Exit?".

The conference will take place at 18.00 in Auditorium 2 (Quelhas building, 2 nd Floor) and is being organised by CEsA -Centre for African, Asian ad Latin American studies.

The keynote speaker will be Prof. Escobar, the renowned professor of anthropology and specialist in Development Studies of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

"After seven decades of Development, it is now time to consider new approaches to improving the life of people,"  this is the question that Prof. Escobar will be debating during this 3 rd Edition of KDLs in Lisbon.

KDLs are maned after the Polish reporter, Ryszard Kapuscinski, and they are a result of a joint-action by the European Union of the United Nations Programme for Development and various university partners. This event has registered more than 90 lectures since 2009, to more than 25,000 participants.
