On the 20th of October, at 17.30, ISEG will be hosting a book launch of the work entitled “Democracy in Portugal: How to avoid its decline?” by Paulo Trigo Pereira, a full professor at ISEG and the Chair of IPP- Institute of Public Policy,.
The event will count with the presence of the author, Paulo Trigo Pereira and Professors Alexandre Quintanilha and Vital Moreira, and it will be moderated by Maria Lopes (Público).
According to the author, this book essentially addresses how the performance of Portuguese democracy can be improved as it faces the immediate, most visible, and long-term challenges, taking into account the regime changes that have been taking place over the past decades. He further reaffirms the need to renew “parliamentary democracy, and to determine what it should be, what it is, and how we can improve it”.
