With the objective of contributing to promote the Human Right to Adequate Food, on the 7
th of February a Seminar is being organised on ”
FoodAction: The Human Right to Adequate Food through public procurement in the agro-industrial chain”, by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the ReAlimentar network, The National Rural Network (RRN), and the Food, Farming, and Forestry College (F3) of Universidade de Lisboa. The seminar will take place in the Salão Nobre of the Rector’s Office of Universidade de Lisboa.
At this event, which is open to the public, best practices and national and international experiences related to governance, public procurement, local production, and adequate food consumption will be presented and discussed, with emphasis on the agro-industrial and family farms supply chain for collective catering.
This seminar will be a space for debate between representatives of the main decision-making players in the chain and it will help to recognise and align national and municipal food strategies, in interaction with political power and in agreement with global agendas and initiatives.
