On the 22 nd November, ISEG will host a debate on "A New Light on the Civil War in Mozambique ", organised by CESA – Centre for African, Asian and Latin American Studies, based on two essential recently-written books which shed a new light on the Civil War in Mozambique, between 1976-92.
– The War Within. New Perspectives on the Civil War in Mozambique, 1976-1992 (2018), by Michel Cahen, a researcher at ESA, with co-authors Eric Morier-Genoud and Domingos do Rosário;
– Tempos de Fúria: Memórias do massacre de Homoíne, 18 de Julho de 1987, Moçambique, by Hassane Armando (2018), from the Colecção Tempos e Espaços Africanos, which was written by the researchers Professors Isabel Castro Henriques and Joana Pereira Leite.
The debate will be moderated by Professor Jochen Oppenheimer and will count with the presence of the author Michel Cahen and the speaker Luiz Henrique Passador.
The event will start at 18.00, in the Novo Banco Lecture Room (Quelhas, 4 th Floor).
