The Diagonal Seminar on “Around the world in five equations” will be held on the 18th of November, which is being organised by students of the Masters in Applied Mathematics Applied for Economics and Management (MAEG), with the support of the faculty of the Department of Mathematics of ISEG.
Ever since the dawn of societies, simple polynomial equations have emerged and have initiated a development process which is very close to our own evolution as a civilization. Student Rodrigo Brigham da Silva will take us on a journey through the world and time, presenting the various figures and stories which arte associated with these equations, culminating in the resolution of a problem remained unsolved for more than 300 years.
The event starts at 12:30, in Auditorium 5 (New Quelhas).
Free entrance, subject to space availability. The Covid-19 safety rules in force will be enforced, namely social distancing and the obligatory wearing of masks.
The seminar will also be broadcast live via Zoom, on the link: https://videoconf-colibri.zoom.us/j/87469419607?pwd=UE9tOTVETTBQS096OGtROE5RSDBJUT09
