Thematic Cycle | Psychosocial Risks and Labour Law

Target audience: trades union leaders and officials, managers, Health and Safety technicians, workers’ representatives for Health and Safety in the Workplace (HSW), and the general public.

ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Universidade de Lisboa and the Working Environment Authority are organising a Thematic Cycle on Health and Safety in the Workplace entitled “Psychosocial Risks and Labour Law“, which will be held on the 25, 26, and 27 November, 2019 at ISEG (Lecture Theatres 3 and 4, Quelhas building, 4th Floor).

 

This cycle, which will last 3 days, covers various topics related to Health and Safety in the Workplace, and aims to contribute to the development of a culture of prevention, with a special emphasis on inherent Psychosocial Risks and Labour Law, through the dissemination of scientific and technical information and best organizational practices in this area. Promoting a culture of prevention implies adopting practices that contribute to implementing risk prevention and control at all levels, creating a general awareness of safety among workers and employers alike, and establish an organisational framework that guarantees ever higher levels of Health and Safety in the Workplace. 

This Cycle consists of three modules:

  • Promotion of Mental Health at Work
  • Health and Safety Law in the Workplace
  • Work Accidents and Work-related Illnesses
  • Critical analysis of the legislation
  • Prevention, Management and Intervention
    • MODULE 2 – Psychosocial Risks in the Workplace – 26 November
    • Psychosocial Risks
    • Causes and Consequences
    • Risk Assessment and Management
    • Intervention Policies and Strategies
    • Legal and Regulatory Framework
      • MODULE 3 – Moral Harassment in the Workplace and Labour Law – 27 November

The price of attending the whole Cycle is 330 Euros, or alternatively, one can enrol for individual modules: (Module 1 = 130 Euros, Module 2 = 130 Euros, Module 3 = 130 Euros), plus VAT, however participation in all the modules is recommended. This price includes lunches, 2 coffee-breaks/day and the possibility of parking during the 3 days of the Cycle.

Trainers:
The Thematic Cycle will be lectured by Prof. António Garcia Pereira (ISEG), Ana Teresa Verdasca (Trainer and Researcher at Socius / ISEG), Maria Antónia Frasquilho (Work Psychiatrist – Clinica Alterstatus), Prof. Hernâni Veloso Neto (Language Faculty of Universidade do Porto), and by Manuel Roxo (Working Environment Authority – ACT).

The availability of places depends on the capacity of the lecture rooms.
