TRAINING HANDS ON

WIKIPEDIA/WIKIMEDIA

As part of the European Horizon 2020 project PLOTINA – Promoting Gender Balance and Inclusion in Research, Innovation and Training (Portugal), a hands on training session on WikipediaWikimedia will take place on the 24th of January, from 11.00 to 15.00 at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Universidade de Lisboa (directions).

Essentially practical, the session is designed to provide knowledge on the basics of how to start editing on Wikipedia. No prior editing experience is required. After an introduction to the basic principles and tools, participants will have the opportunity during the training to edit small articles and upload images, etc. The focus of the practical component of training will be on uploading new articles within the context of the scope of the
Women in Red international movement, which aims to increase the participation and visibility of women on Wikimedia/Wikipedia.

Wikipedia/Wikimedia has 1,000 million hits per month and hosts approximately 6 million articles written in English and 1 million in Portuguese. Do you want to help this movement grow?
