Funding Scheme for External Science and Technology Cooperation - International Collaborative Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) - Application period : April 1st to 30th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a summary of the program and attached are the full programs in Portuguese and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Objectives of the financing program:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) has set up a Funding Support Program for External Cooperation in Science and Technology, to promote exchanges with abroad and the cooperation of Macao's science and technology workers, promote the transformation of Macao into a place where high-level international talents gather, and increase the level of cooperation between Macao and abroad in scientific research, industry-university-research and talent cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Maximum financing amount:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Up to 5 million MOP can be requested (\u2248 565.000\u20ac<\/strong>) for collaborative projects with eligible foreign organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Recipients of Financial Support:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Public higher education institutions or public medical institutions in the MSAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Private higher education institutions incorporated under the terms of Macao SAR law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Non-profit private entities incorporated under the terms of Macao SAR law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Entrepreneurs or commercial companies registered in the MSAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Application period:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          From April 1 to April 30, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Application requirements<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            For international collaborative research category<\/strong>The foreign collaborating institution must meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            1. A foreign higher education institution that is ranked in the top 200 overall in the latest edition of the Times, QS, US News or ARWU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. A foreign higher education institution ranked in the top 100 in any discipline in the latest edition of the Times, QS, US News or ARWU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. A foreign company on the latest Fortune 500 list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. Higher education institutions, scientific research institutes or commercial companies established by law in Portuguese-speaking countries participating in the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            5. Criteria for Collaborative Research:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              They include signing a cooperation agreement and fulfilling requirements such as annual meetings and minimum exchange time between the partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Financing method:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                The modality is non-repayable support<\/strong>. The financing can last up to 3 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
