If you achieve <strong>80 points<\/strong>, you will be given the <strong>Civic Scholar Badge<\/strong> - an official recognition of your civic commitment and leadership, which you can display on your diploma, LinkedIn and CV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ready to get involved?<\/strong><br>This programme is more than a label - it's a way for you to build your legacy as an ISEG student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7d19f9c8b174181baa7be220650f2785\"><strong>Recipients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme is for <strong>1st and 2nd year Master's students at ISEG<\/strong> who have a genuine interest in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Getting actively involved in social causes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking a responsible leadership role;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with real communities and generating positive impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8c2ebc5a154d45ed60aaa650016262d3\"><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Civic Scholar Programme was created for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Promoting <strong>civic engagement<\/strong>, social responsibility and community leadership;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recognising and valuing<\/strong> the contribution of students to social causes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing practical skills in <strong>leadership and collaboration<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stimulating <strong>the creation of solutions to meet societal challenges<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the link between ISEG, its students and the community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bbaa90b86fb64e10d3e77d0846d3571f\"><strong>Programme structure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To get the <strong>Civic Scholar Badge<\/strong>, you will have to <strong>accumulate 80 points<\/strong> throughout the programme, participating in activities with real impact.<br>Each activity has a different weight, depending on the level of involvement and the impact generated. The programme includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Volunteering activities (see some examples) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/Civic-Scholar-Programme.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/Civic-Scholar-Programme.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HERE<\/a>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in and organisation of workshops and events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of social leadership projects or internships in the social sector;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Networking and mentoring sessions with community leaders;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying new partnerships with NGOs and public institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3e5e2cd5997ddcc16017e45cf06fda1e\"><strong>Activities and Points<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><td><strong>Activity<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Short description<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Points<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>\ud83e\udd1d <strong>Community Service and Volunteering<\/strong><\/td><td>Voluntary work in NGOs, public organisations or social enterprises: <a href=\"https:\/\/coompass.org\/\">https:\/\/coompass.org\/<\/a><\/td><td>1 point\/hour - max. 30<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\ud83c\udf10 <strong>Creating Partnerships<\/strong><\/td><td>Identify and formalise new partnerships for the programme<\/td><td>10 points per partnership - max. 30<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\ud83e\udde0 <strong>Workshops \/ Seminars \/ Publications<\/strong><\/td><td>Participate in or organise thematic sessions or publish articles<\/td><td>5 points per session (max. 20) - 20 points per organisation\/publication<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\ud83d\udcac <strong>Mentoring &amp; Networking<\/strong><\/td><td>Participate in networking or mentoring events with community leaders<\/td><td>5 points per event - max. 10<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\ud83d\ude80 <strong>Leadership in Action<\/strong><\/td><td>Lead or co-lead a community or social entrepreneurship project<\/td><td>50 points<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\ud83c\udf31 <strong>Internship in the Social Sector<\/strong><\/td><td>Do an internship with a national or international NGO or public organisation, with clear objectives and a measurable impact<\/td><td>50 points<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve the <strong>Civic Scholar Badge<\/strong>, you must accumulate at least <strong>80 points<\/strong> through these activities - choosing the combinations that best align with your interests and availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-51afb620f096b29b326d2e95d933177b\"><strong>Recognition<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you get to <strong>80 points<\/strong>, you will receive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Civic Scholar Badge<\/strong> - official supplement to the diploma, a visible sign of your civic commitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Certificate<\/strong> - formal document issued by ISEG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-71212e60cf2cc7b2d7b944546a993377\"><strong>Partnerships<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme has the support of various organisations that will host students for volunteering or intervention projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-iseg-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-288b60247413ab4a13a68896c140b9e7\"><strong>Technology Platform<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iseg.ulisboa.pt\/sustentabilidade\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/11\/1741349348280000_728307889.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-740\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Civic Scholar Programme will be supported by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/coompass.org\/\">Coompass platform<\/a>, which allows students to access social impact opportunities, log hours, follow their civic journey, receive recognition and visualise their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
