Método de Avaliação

There are two periods of assessment: the Normal Period and the Appeal Period. The grade is obtained in the same way:

  • Mid-term test: 20%.
  • Presentation in class: 20%
  • Final exam: 60%.

Nevertheless, ample choice is given to the student:

a)      The student may choose the exam to account for 100% of the final grade. In that case, the student neither chooses a paper to present, nor hands in the mid-term test.

b)      The student may choose not to present a paper, so he/she does not choose any paper to present. (It is not the same thing as to start by choosing a paper but quitting just before the presentation is due). In that case, the 20% weight will add to that of the final exam grade and the final exam accounts for 80% of the final grade.

c)      The student may choose not to do the mid-term test. In that case, the 20% weight will add to that of the final exam grade and the final exam accounts for 80% of the final grade. The choice must be made before the mid-term test. If the mid-term test is handed in and corrected, it will necessarily account for 20% of the final grade, even if the grade of the final exam is higher than that of the mid-term test.

If the final exam grade is below 8, the student will not pass, whatever the grades obtained in the other assessment components.
