Midterm test and ongoing student assessment

Dear students,

I will explain this better in our practical class (Wednesday 24/04 for Management, Thursday 02/05 for Economics), but this email serves to ensure that all students are aware of the change made to the calculation of the ongoing student assessment.

The ongoing student assessment will consist of the best grade between (i) the grade of the midterm test, and (ii) the grade of the presentation (50%) + discussion (50%). The best grade between (i) and (ii) will effectively have a weight of 100% for the purposes of the ongoing student assessment.

To illustrate with an example, suppose you had 13 in the midterm test, 15 in the text presentation and 13 in the text discussion. Your ongoing student assessment grade will be 14 (0.5*15 presentation +0.5*13 discussion).

It will be based on this grade that the criterion of access to the Normal Examination period exam - that is having an ongoing student assessment mark greater or equal to 10 -, will be applied.

Consequently, the final grade will be:

50% Normal Examination Period Exam + 50% (Presentation+discussion) OR Midterm test

Best regards

Patricia
