The deadline for applications is 31 October 2025, for the Gulbenkian Merit Scholarships, which are for students entering their first year of higher education in the 2025/2026 academic year.
The support awarded corresponds to 2,000 euros per academic year, with the possibility of renewal until completion of their Master's degree, provided that the conditions laid down in the regulations are met.
The scholarships also include a one-off additional support of 2,000 euros for a period of international mobility under the Erasmus programme or equivalent.
Eligibility conditions
Students can apply if they have:
- an application score of 170 points or more in the general competition for access and entry in the 2025/26 academic year, in the course for which they are enrolled.
- proof of application for a social action grant from the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), a necessary condition regardless of the declared family income;
- an annual per capita income equal to or less than 14,000 euros, according to the evaluation of the Social Action Services of the respective university.
