Civic Scholar Programme (CSP)

Become an agent of change.

The Civic Scholar Programme is a unique opportunity for ISEG Master's students who wish to go beyond the lecture theatre and leave a positive mark on the world.
Through a points-based system, get involved in real projects, volunteering activities, workshops and social challenges. If you achieve 80 points, you will be given the Civic Scholar Badge - an official recognition of your civic commitment and leadership, which you can display on your diploma, LinkedIn and CV.

This programme is more than a label - it's a way for you to build your legacy as an ISEG student.

This programme is for 1st and 2nd year Master's students at ISEG who have a genuine interest in:

  • Getting actively involved in social causes;
  • Taking a responsible leadership role;
  • Working with real communities and generating positive impact.

The Civic Scholar Programme was created for:

  • Promoting civic engagement, social responsibility and community leadership;
  • Recognising and valuing the contribution of students to social causes;
  • Developing practical skills in leadership and collaboration;
  • Stimulating the creation of solutions to meet societal challenges;
  • Strengthen the link between ISEG, its students and the community.

To get the Civic Scholar Badge, you will have to accumulate 80 points throughout the programme, participating in activities with real impact.
Each activity has a different weight, depending on the level of involvement and the impact generated. The programme includes:

  • Volunteering activities (see some examples) HERE);
  • Participation in and organisation of workshops and events;
  • Development of social leadership projects or internships in the social sector;
  • Networking and mentoring sessions with community leaders;

The Civic Scholar Programme will be supported by the Coompass platform, which allows students to access social impact opportunities, log hours, follow their civic journey, receive recognition and visualise their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This solution was designed to enhance student involvement and make it easier for the ISEG team to manage the programme.

If you want to be part of the first generation of ISEG Civic Scholars, apply by 22nd February 2026.
