Breve introdução

The course offers a general overview of the making of the current international community, with the rise of the modern State. It focus on the features of the main actors of the modern international community, namely the basic principles guiding the work of international organizations. Then it concentrates on the role of international organizations in global governance affairs, analyzing the action of the UN Security Council on peace and security issues, as well as the intended reform of this body. The last part of the course is devoted to the world economic (dis) order, stemming from Bretton Wood agreements to the World Trade Organization, as well as new developments in trade negotiations and the growing role of China in the international system.
