Strategy is one of the most relevant factors in the business world, therefore it should be carefully studied and implemented in the daily activities of a company, as a way to obtain better results. However, the strategic process lacks an unique and a truly coherent meaning, which gives the opportunity to many authors to express diverse opinions and suggestions about the topic, that may vary according to the way they interpret the functioning of the organizations or the theory they defend.
Some authors suggest that relationships are inevitable in any economic organization and with that, the presence and positioning in a specific network of undetermined relationships is also compulsory, to the good functioning of any company. Those authors then suggest, that relationships have to be taken into consideration at a strategic level, and consequently the concept of ?strategizing? is born.
Taking advantage of yet few empirical studies existing that prove the importance of this concept; this dissertation intends to explore the relationships with a company?s clients from the food and beverage industry and its influence on a company at a strategic level. The objective is, through a case study, test and prove this importance and influence, on the everyday activities of an organization, through a Development Function Model by Walter et al., (2001).
