Resumo
This report details the findings of an internship conducted at Redes Energéticas Nacionais (REN) as part of the Master’s in Finance program at ISEG – University of Lisbon. The study investigates how Investor Relations (IR) serves as a strategic corporate tool, affecting market perception, shareholder alignment, and stock performance. By merging academic theory with practical application, the report highlights IR's role in enhancing transparency, minimizing information asymmetry, and supporting corporate valuation. The methodology includes practical responsibilities alongside qualitative insights, featuring a questionnaire conducted with REN's IR senior manager. Findings confirm that IR is pivotal at the intersection of finance, communication, and strategy, particularly in environments that require ESG accountability and digital transformation. The internship experience reaffirmed the critical importance of IR in fostering investor trust, optimizing market engagement, and reinforcing long-term value creation.
