Resumo
This MFW internship report explains the complexity between the merger of the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and Credit Suisse (CS) from a data management perspective. The focus here is on the BCCH Migration Readiness project, which is at the forefront of client data migration. Including both theoretical frameworks and practical project experience, this report examines the role of data governance, client data migration, and stakeholder management in the biggest financial mergers in Swiss history. My internship responsibilities included data validation based on Structured Query Language (SQL), network analyses, and becoming a Certified Data Analyst (CDA). Enabling me to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical problem solving in a fast-paced, highstakes, and highly regulated financial environment. The key takeaways are the importance of iterative data migration strategies, effective collaboration among stakeholders, and maintaining high data integrity under tight deadlines. This report shows how best practices in theoretical data management can be applied in a real-world setting. Ultimately, achieving my goal of becoming a data-driven specialist in the financial sector.
