This report documents the internship carried out at Carris, the primary public transport operator in Lisbon, as part of the requirements for completing the Master’s in Data Analytics for Business. The internship was conducted within the Fare and Commercial Control and Management Department, focusing on optimizing operational processes and analyzing passenger data. Using tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Excel, the internship involved tasks like creating dashboards and conducting data-driven analyses of passenger patterns. The primary goal was to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of decision-making processes within the department. The report emphasizes key insights taken from data analysis, including operational improvements during high-demand events and highlights the importance of data-driven methodologies in public transport operations. This experience provided valuable professional growth, development of technical and analytical skills while contributing to Carris's ongoing efforts to deliver efficient, sustainable, and customer centered transportation services.
