ISEG student receives 2008 Immigrant Entrepreneur Award

The Entrepreneur Immigrant Award 2008, attributed by PLATAFORMA IMIGRAÇÃO, distinguished two immigrants ex aequo: one coming from Russia, Mariana Serpinina and the other from Cape Verde, Paulo Mendes for their demonstrated capacity of integration in the receiving community and for the work developed with their fellow citizens.

Mariana Serpinina He immigrated from Russia in 2001 with the 9th grade of school, is in the 2nd year of the Management course at the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, where he developed several projects, and in 2008 he created the telephone information company "Informação na Hora, Lda".

The IMMIGRATION PLATFORM was created to promote and disseminate the Common Basic Principles for the integration of immigrants and its founding nucleus includes Foundations and other Institutions or Civil Society Organizations that have been developing activities or promoting and supporting research or reflection on the subject of immigration.

The awards were presented by the Minister of the Presidency, Pedro Silva Pereira, on December 18 during a colloquium on Migration, Multilingualism and Intercultural Dialogue held at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
