The new president of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) is Sara Falcão Casaca, Assistant Professor at ISEG, who took office on Monday, February 8, when the International Seminar "For the End of Female Genital Mutilation" was held in Lisbon.
This initiative marks the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which is being celebrated today and will bring together government and UN representatives, members of various NGOs and women who have been victims of the practice.
