Scientists from the Instituto de Geografia de Ordenamento do Território and the Instituto Superior Técnico da Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) launched a project of Crowdfunding for the acquisition of a drone for photography and mapping in Antarctica and the Arctic, with the aim of studying changes in terrestrial ecosystems associated with climate change. The 3D Antarctica project will result in an important step for national scientific research and help position ULisboa as one of the most important international research centers in the Antarctic Peninsula region. This project needs us. How? It's easy. Just go to initiative website and make a small contribution, starting at €1. To purchase drone 20,000 euros are needed. At the moment, the University of Lisbon's Polar Group is just €7,000 short of completing the project. You have until January 31st to contribute and spread the word about this project.*
