Political Ecology: theory, research, action

The event will take place on March 25, 2015  "Political Ecology: theory, research, action" taking place on  March 25thfrom 3pm,  in the CIUL-Lisbon Urban Information Center and in the  CES -Lisbonlocated at Picoas Plaza, Rua do Viriato nº 13 ( location).
 
The purpose of the event is to publicly launch the Ecology and Society Workshop, a CES working group that carries out research in the field of political ecology. It is divided into three parts:
 
–  Interactive audiovisual exhibition on the research activities of the Ecosoc/CES team as part of the projects 'Entitle' (European research network on political ecology), 'Ejolt' (atlas of environmental conflicts) and 'Portugal: ambiente em movimento' - a partnership between CES (Coimbra), SOCIUS (Lisbon) and CETEM (Rio de Janeiro). The exhibition includes an interactive map of environmental conflicts in Portugal that was drawn up in collaboration with different Portuguese groups, associations and activists.
 
–  Lecture by Professor Joan Martinez Alier (Autonomous University of Barcelona), author of reference for European and Latin American political ecology, coordinator of the project 'Ejolt' and director of the journal Ecología Política.
 
–  Screening of the film "Toxic Amazon" by Felipe Milanez (Researcher on the Ecosoc/CES team and the 'Entitle' project), winner of the UN Hero of the Forest award in 2011.
