On January 1st, Prof. Anthony Barnes Atkinson, a renowned British economist specializing in the field of social inequalities, Full Professor at the University of Oxford and Centenary Professor at the London School of Economics, who received his Doctorate "Honoris Causa" from the University of Lisbon in 2012, passed away.
