A Luís Patrão Scholarship is designed to support higher-level academic, technical and executive education for young graduates up to the age of 30 who are starting out on their professional careers.
This is an initiative of Tourism of Portugal , whose primary objective is to promote the qualification and education of the human resources working in the tourism sector, which mostly consists of micro-enterprises and SMEs, and to create a network of young professionals with high potential and talent, and also provide training courses of excellence to further the stimulation the creation and development of new ideas and projects that are more technological, inclusive, and sustainable.
The Luís Patrão Scholarship awards scholarships for specialisation , and postgraduate studies. This is a great opportunity for young people with diverse academic and professional backgrounds to receive finance support and take advantage of the multidisciplinary nature of tourism to apply new knowledge, skills, and know-how, and add tourism to the list of study material to educate those professionals who are thinkers, innovateers, and who will lead the country in the future.
For the launch of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, the Luís Patrão Scholarship counts with a total of 10 scholarships. The total value of the scholarships this year is €500,000.00 (five hundred thousand euros), destined for critical areas of personal and professional development and for fostering the competitiveness of companies, with an emphasis on management skills, innovation, and sustainability, divided into two different types:
- Five specialised vocational education scholarships; and
- Five Masters, MBA, or PhD scholarships.
