1st Forum of Economists from Portuguese-speaking Cities

The UCCLA - Union of Portuguese Speaking Capital Cities and the Regional Delegation of the Order of Economists of Centro and Alentejo co-organize the 1st Forum of Economists from Portuguese-speaking Cities on the day May 25th (Africa Day), starting at 9:15 a.m., at the UCCLA premises.

The 1st Forum of Economists from Portuguese Speaking Cities will be attended by Professor António Mendonça (ISEG), President of the Board of the Regional Delegation of the Center and Alentejo of the Order of Economists and President of the CEsA.

Among other high-level personalities, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Portugal, Prof. Dr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Cape Verde, Dr. Olavo Correia, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Admiral Silva Ribeiro, the Mayor of Lisbon, Dr. Fernando Medina, the former Deputy Secretary General of Kofi Annan at the UN, Prof. Dr. Carlos Lopes, and former Prime Ministers of Portuguese-speaking African countries. Fernando Medina, Kofi Annan's former Assistant Secretary General at the UN, Prof. Dr. Carlos Lopes, as well as former Prime Ministers of Portuguese-speaking African countries and several members of the Orders of Economists, university professors.

This meeting, which is intended to be innovative and an instrument for deepening relations in the world of Portuguese-speaking countries, will discuss "The role of Portuguese-speaking countries in the global economy - New challenges and opportunities".
