Colégio F3 | 2nd Session of the Cycle of Seminars on Urban Food Planning: Urban expansion and the decline of agricultural areas: The case of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area

08 Feb 18:00
CIUL Auditorium

The progressive and systematic reduction in the area of agricultural land and abandoned land in metropolitan areas significantly compromises the proximity food supply of large urban areas and their food sustainability. Given that more than 60% of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) is not urbanized, it is important to establish a model for land use which, within the logic of efficient territorial planning, makes it possible to integrate the urban food system, thus contributing to reducing the likelihood of environmental risk situations occurring and to a rational economic and social development strategy.

This cycle brings together, around six themes, experts from the University of Lisbon and other sectors of society with complementary skills in terms of areas of knowledge and action. Urban Food Planning as a result of territory, production, consumption, culture and environment is approached with a holistic view to generate a multidimensional debate that questions expectations and actions.

Free entry with compulsory registration. Limited to the capacity of the room.   Register your membership    ciul@cm-lisboa.pt
