BIOGRAPHY
Silviero Sansavini, one of the great figures of agricultural sciences in Europe, is Professor Emeritus at the University of Bologna, Italy. His scientific expertise covers the areas of biology-physiology of tree plants and genetics and biotechnology applied to the improvement of several species of fruit trees. He is a member of the Board of the PhD Program in Genomic and Molecular Physiology of fruit trees, past president of the International Society for Horticultural Science and leader in numerous innovative R&D initiatives or projects in this area. He is the author or co-author of hundreds of scientific articles and editor of reference books and scientific journals, and can even be considered the greatest disseminator of scientific and technical knowledge in the area of fruit growing worldwide.
