ISEG joined the initiative of the II COLLOQUIUM OF OLISIPOGRAPHY'2014 promoted by CML, which will be held at Aud CGD on October 23 and 24. This colloquium intends to meet the expectations expressed in the first event and consolidate what is perhaps its main purpose: "never let the sacrificial flame for the city go out!" as Áppio Sottomayor asked in 2012, or even, in the words of the historian José Sarmento de Matos, "a city is a plurality of subjects, a plurality of things: it is Urbanism, it is History, it is Sociology [...]".
In fact, LISBON is a kind of kaleidoscope, so the definition of a multidisciplinary framework was imperative and inevitable, as well as choosing as an agglutinating theme the PUBLIC SPACE, from modernity to postmodernity...
"LISBOA A CÉU ABERTO" will therefore be the title of a horizon of clippings of this plurality with themes based on 4 axes: ESTAR / DESENHAR; PINTAR / FAZER; DANÇAR / PASSEAR and PREVARICAR / VIGIAR, where we intend to show and apprehend many "Lisboas", in a debate that aims to problematize the breadth of the urban landscape and equate borders and powers, belonging and identities, symbols and idiosyncrasies of an always plural CITY. New urban strategies for occupying public space will also be addressed, bringing together themes as diverse as censorship, urban art, the sidewalk, the climate, neighborhood relations or tourism, among others.
